Masha Blokh
Performer
Masha is entering a bold new stage of life, and The Radical Agreement Project is pushing her onwards towards dizzying peaks of fun and comradeship!
She started with free beginner classes with RA in April 2023, dove into the 6-week classes soon after, and has since gained the experience and confidence to start leading in-person improv classes in the heretofore improv-deprived small town of North Bay, Ontario. She was surprised when improv was more fun than scary (still scary...but so worth it for the fun and learning).
She'd been enjoying long-form improv shows for over a decade, but never thought to try it for herself, because her very funny, creative and outgoing older brother (who had taken her to her first show in New York) had taken some classes and decided improv was stressful and just not his thing. How could she, an apologetic and unconfident mortal, hope to get any further than him with this mysterious artform? It turns out that it's hard to predict how much you'll love doing improv until you give it a try!
It's also hard to predict what you'll take away from the experience - as someone with a keen interest in personal growth, and a keen skepticism regarding self-help programs, she loves how many mental health benefits are packed into improv classes without any of the jargon.
Outside of improv, Masha dabbles in foreign languages and translation, forest schooling, choir, parent coaching, international folk dancing, berry scavenging and parenting a 4 and 7 year old (both of whom recently joined her for a marathon hour-long improv scene involving netherite lamborghinis and a trip to the moon.)
