Improv@Work

It would be reasonable to think that the most important work related to an improv for business workshop would be the actual improv class itself. And that's true! The workshop is the most important part.
But coming in at a very close second is preparing for the workshop, which needs to be a collaboration between the workshop facilitator and the client.
The radical agreement project takes this process very seriously which is why we always schedule a prep call two weeks before an improv corporate training and provide a step-by-step guide for how to prepare both your team and your space for improv classes at your office.
The prep steps for your space are not that hard to guess. It is important that the space be private, that the space be clean, that the space be free of tripping or head banging hazards and that the space have chairs for all participants and an open area so that everyone can sit between exercises and also play improv games up on their feet.
The prep steps for people can be a little bit more tricky. First of all you want to make sure that everyone involved in the workshop knows that they're going to be participating in the workshop with a good amount of notice before it actually takes place. Improv can be a little intimidating for some people and you don't want them struggling with that just as they are about to start improvising.
You also want to make sure that while the activity is fun people understand that going to the activity intoxicated is not a good idea. A lot of these events happen at functions that offer alcoholic beverages and while it may seems natural to have a few beers to loosen yourself up before an improv workshop, having even two can be a recipe for disaster.
You also want to make sure that you're wearing comfortable clothes and that you come with a spirit of openness and engagement.
There are more steps to the guide which I can send you if you are interested. Feel free to reach out to me via email: terry@radical agreement.com
